Implementing the program of meeting voters before the 2nd Session of the 14th National Assembly, on October 7, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue and National Assembly deputies of Ha Tinh province met voters in Huong Khe and Cam Xuyen districts.

On behalf of the National Assembly delegates, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue acknowledged the opinions and recommendations of voters to send to the National Assembly.

Regarding the restructuring of the agricultural sector associated with the construction of new rural areas, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue said that the Central Committee will discuss and issue a resolution on renewing the growth model associated with improving the quality of economic growth, including the issue of agricultural restructuring.

In addition, to attract investment from businesses in agriculture and rural areas, the Central Government will discuss the issue of land accumulation, but must still ensure the development of household and farm economies.

The Government directed relevant ministries and branches to submit to the National Assembly at the 2nd Session for approval the Master Plan on economic restructuring for the 2016-2020 period with many solutions to strongly promote the restructuring of agricultural production.

The Government also requested ministries and branches to actively revise the 19 new rural criteria, focusing on criteria to increase income, ensure safety and security for people and increase decentralization to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to decide on issues suitable to local realities.

Referring to the implementation of support and compensation policies for the marine environmental incident caused by Formosa Company, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue said that after the incident, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 722/QD-TTg and a number of instructions to directly support the people. Now, after completing the statistics, the Prime Minister has issued a decision to support compensation for 7 subjects, both indirect and direct.

“Everyone wants to be faster, but in reality, a small loss is already complicated to count. This incident involves four provinces, many components, many fields, so the statistics are very complicated. We are not afraid of shortages, we are only afraid of unfairness. So although the agencies are very active, it cannot be done quickly. In the next few days, the amount of 3,000 billion VND advanced to support compensation for damages to people and businesses will be distributed to localities. We must create social consensus in this matter,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

In addition to providing direct support to fishermen who have suffered losses, the Deputy Prime Minister said the Government has actively directed ministries and sectors to handle the marine environment to ensure long-term livelihoods for people; continue to implement policies to develop large-capacity fishing vessels and logistics service vessels associated with the construction of fishing teams and groups so that fishermen can confidently go offshore.

Responding to voters’ concerns and recommendations on law-making and anti-corruption, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue affirmed that the National Assembly and the Government will ensure the quality of the amendments to the Penal Code. The Government will soon review 10 years of implementing the Law on Anti-Corruption and Wastefulness to propose more fundamental solutions to the National Assembly.

In response to voters' requests to ensure the living conditions and salaries of civil servants and public employees, the Deputy Prime Minister said that it is necessary to be determined to streamline the apparatus, improve the efficiency and effectiveness of state management and the living conditions of civil servants and public employees. At the same time, to increase salaries, it is necessary to thoroughly save on spending at all levels and sectors.
