Historical mark

The speech of Director of Nghe An Electricity Company Trinh Phuong Tram read at the ceremony reviewed the tradition, milestones and development milestones of Nghe An Electricity Company.

Accordingly, 60 years ago, on May 4, 1959, the Vinh Power Plant with the help of the Soviet Union was officially inaugurated. The construction items of the Plant have a capacity of 8,000kW.

Vinh Power Plant has contributed to the cause of national defense and socio-economic restoration and development in Nghe An during the years of resistance against American imperialism.

In particular, during the construction of the Factory, on June 15, 1957, the staff and workers of Vinh Power Plant were honored to welcome Uncle Ho to visit. Here, Uncle Ho met and talked with many staff and workers of the factory.

Since then, more than 60 years have passed, generations of employees of Nghe An Power Company have continuously strived to follow Uncle Ho's teachings, overcoming all difficulties and hardships from the destructive war period to the challenges posed in the country's renovation period, preserving, building and developing the company to continuously grow, fulfilling the assigned role and tasks, creating the foundation and driving force for the comprehensive development in all aspects of the country in general and Nghe An in particular.

After 60 years of construction and development, Nghe An Electricity has changed its name many times. In particular, April 14, 2010 marked a new milestone in the history of the company's formation and development. Vietnam Electricity Group decided to change the name of Nghe An Electricity to Nghe An Electricity Company under the Northern Power Corporation.

The model conversion is a recognition and marks a major change of the company in both quantity and quality. That is, taking over the entire low-voltage grid in rural areas, directly selling electricity to households, ensuring that people enjoy the electricity price according to the Government's regulations.

Nghe An Electricity Company has done a good job of receiving and renovating the rural low voltage grid; reaching a historic milestone: 100% of communes have the national grid earlier than expected. Nghe An Electricity Company has invested in building power source projects, developing transmission and distribution grids, power supply projects for economic zones, industrial parks, and factories; serving the industrialization and modernization cause, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of Nghe An province.

In parallel, over the years, Nghe An Electricity Company has been implementing many comprehensive solutions, applying scientific and technical advances, successfully building a diverse and modern customer care system, convenient and fast customer services to improve service quality, satisfying the needs of electricity users.

The Electricity Industry must be one step ahead.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Thanh Quy acknowledged and highly appreciated Nghe An Electricity Company for its continuous development and growth in all aspects, making important contributions to the socio-economic development of the province.

According to Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Thanh Quy, the Resolution of the Nghe An Provincial Party Congress for the 2015-2020 term identifies one of the five key economic development priorities of the province as promoting infrastructure development, in which electricity production and distribution is a key priority task; completing the rural power grid, providing electricity to villages and hamlets without electricity before 2020....

"That requires Nghe An Electricity Corporation to make more efforts, continue to develop rapidly and strongly to meet the requirements for socio-economic development of the province; provide services with increasingly high quality; have solutions to effectively use energy resources, ensure energy security associated with resource protection and environmental protection" - said the head of the Provincial People's Committee.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Thanh Quy suggested that, with the motto "electricity must go one step ahead" to serve development, Nghe An Electricity Company continues to invest in developing the power grid system, ensuring adequate and stable supply of electricity for the province's socio-economic development.

At the same time, promote restructuring of the Electricity industry in line with the roadmap for developing a competitive market; actively apply scientific and technological advances to increase labor productivity; reduce costs in production and business activities; enhance the responsibility and attitude of cadres, workers and employees towards work and customers with the spirit of creation, service, "administrative reform"; increase transparency of costs, prices and electricity prices.

Along with implementing solutions to prevent power loss and quickly overcome the overload phenomenon at some power lines and transformer stations, Nghe An Electricity industry needs to continue investing in projects that create many socio-economic benefits for the locality; develop power infrastructure in remote, isolated and especially difficult border areas. Strive to complete the program of bringing electricity to rural areas so that by 2020, it will achieve the goal of providing electricity to 100% of the province's villages and hamlets that do not have electricity,...

In recognition of the efforts and contributions over the past 60 years, many collectives and individuals of the Nghe An Electricity sector have been awarded many noble awards by the Party and the State: Hero of the Armed Forces; Medals and Certificates of Merit of various types. Nghe An Electricity Company has become one of the typical units of the Northern Power Corporation and Vietnam Electricity Group.
