The dialogue between the opposition and the legitimate government of Venezuela is being hindered by instructions coming from Washington, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez said.

"What is hindering is the order from the Donald Trump administration that there will be no talks, there will be war. We said 'yes' to dialogue, and 'no' to war. There will be no war," she said.

Caracas has been faced with "absolute political and ideological rejection of Venezuela and the Bolivarian socialist model," according to Delcy Rodriguez.

"The order from above is not to have any dialogue. This is the same order they gave, when we in the Dominican Republic almost reached an agreement, almost signed an agreement at a meeting organized by the Venezuelans to find a solution to Venezuela's problems. Washington said Nicolas Maduro should go," Ms. Rodriguez said.
