1.5 tons of fish released into Lam River
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 26, Vien Quang Pagoda, Hamlet 7A, Nam Thanh Commune (Nam Dan) held a ceremony to release animals at the beginning of the year of the Rooster 2017, releasing 1.5 tons of fish into Lam River.

Early in the morning, the group of animals released departed from Vien Quang Pagoda to Lam River wharf, near King Mai Temple (Sa Nam town), to perform the release ceremony. More than 100 sacks and boxes of fresh fish, transported by cars, were gathered at the river wharf.

After the ceremony, 1.5 tons of fish, including many species, were released into the Lam River amid the prayers of more than 200 Buddhists from many localities in and outside the province. The fish were released at the river wharf and in the middle of the river. The temple used a boat to take most of the fish to the middle of the river for release.

It is known that every year, Vien Quang Pagoda often organizes a release ceremony, a traditional Buddhist ritual, expressing compassion, love for all species, and respect for the lives of all living beings. The release ceremony is often held with the ritual of releasing fish and birds back into nature to pray for serenity, health, peace, and luck for everyone and every family.
