“Many media outlets reported that foreign reporters were allegedly asked by North Korea to pay a fee of $10,000 for the trip. We have not received such information,” the source said, adding that Pyongyang did not make any financial demands on the South Korean reporters.
The source also confirmed that eight reporters from South Korea have departed for North Korea.
The South Korean government hastily arranged a charter flight to take reporters to Wonsan, North Korea, from an airport in Seongnam, near the capital Seoul.
A day earlier, a delegation of reporters from China, Russia, the US and the UK departed from Beijing (China) to Wonsan city on a special flight of North Korea’s Koyo Air. The reporters are expected to arrive at Punggye-ri on a special train./.
