Parents fined 200,000 VND for insulting teacher's honor

The conclusion affirmed that this parent had insulted the teacher’s honor, but it was not serious enough to warrant criminal prosecution. As for the accusation of illegal detention and assault, the investigation police found that there was not enough basis for handling the case.
Ngo Quyen District Police have imposed an administrative fine of 200,000 VND on the female parent.
Previously, on the afternoon of January 2, 2018, the teacher was teaching in class when she received a phone call from the mother of a student in her class, inviting her to a coffee shop on Lach Tray Street to discuss personal matters.
Late in the afternoon of the same day, she went to the Nam Cuong hotel area, about 400 meters from the school. This female parent and three strange women were waiting there, called her in, and falsely accused her of having an affair with her husband. She said she was forced into a car, beaten, and taken to a coffee shop on Van Cao street for interrogation, and had cold water poured on her face.
She filed a complaint with the school board, Le Loi ward police, and Ngo Quyen district police.
The matter was not resolved, 3 days later this female parent continued to lead a group of men to break into the school causing disorder. Colleagues had to take the teacher into hiding.Only when the Le Loi ward police arrived did the group disperse. Her husband then went to the school and apologized to the teacher on behalf of his wife.
