Thai women grow white oyster mushrooms for high income
(Baonghean.vn) - For the first time, the oyster mushroom model was put into trial cultivation in Khe Ran village, Bong Khe commune, Con Cuong district. After 3 months of implementation, up to now, the model has initially brought good results, estimated to bring initial income of over 70 million VND/crop.
Ms. Vi Thi Vui in Khe Ran village is the first pioneer household to implement the white oyster mushroom growing model. On an area of 100m2, her family cooperated with Ms. Luong Thi Hien in Block 1, Con Cuong town to grow 4,200 bags of mushrooms with a total cost of 53 million VND.
According to Ms. Luong Thi Hien: “The idea of growing white oyster mushrooms started after visiting economic development models in other localities. Realizing that local conditions were suitable for these types of mushrooms, we discussed and implemented them with other women. Although the experimental model is still in its early stages, it has produced positive results.”

Ms. Vi Thi Vui shared more: “In the process of implementing the model, we have many advantages: taking advantage of the area of the home garden, free time during the day; raw materials such as sawdust, agricultural by-products such as straw and rice husks to make mushroom growing spawn, helping us reduce raw material costs.”
White oyster mushrooms are a nutritious food. This type of mushroom is easy to grow and care for, requires little investment but brings high economic value. It is estimated that 4,200 bags of mushrooms will produce 4.2 tons of white oyster mushrooms, with the current market price of 35,000 VND/kg, after deducting expenses, the income will be over 70 million VND/crop within 6 months.

Mushrooms are grown cleanly, without the use of pesticides, so consumers trust them. Currently, customer demand is high, and the amount of mushrooms harvested from the model is not enough to meet the demand.
Although it is still in its early stages, the white oyster mushroom model has shown its effectiveness, gradually helping people in mountainous areas have a more stable source of income to develop their family economy./.
