Nghe An women are stronger and more confident in implementing activities

On the afternoon of March 8, the Committee for the Advancement of Women of Nghe An province held a conference to deploy gender equality work and activities for the advancement of women in 2021.

In 2020, implementing the Law on Gender Equality, Nghe An province issued decisions, plans and deployed many coordination programs.
Thanks to that, over time the problemgender equalityhas been integrated into the development and implementation of strategies, planning and socio-economic development plans of localities and departments and branches.

In addition, attention has been paid to the direction and organization of measures to promote gender equality, information, propaganda, and dissemination of policies and laws on gender equality and women's advancement.
Thanks to these efforts, the number of women participating in Party committees for the 2020-2025 term at the provincial level was 7.45% higher than the previous term, at the district level was 2.9% higher and at the commune level was 6%.

In 2020, the whole province created jobs for more than 38,000 workers, of which the proportion of female workers reached 44%, exceeding the set plan.
In addition, the goals of improving female human resources, gradually ensuring equal participation between men and women in the fields of education and training, ensuring gender equality in access to and enjoyment of health care services, ensuring gender equality in family life... have achieved many positive results.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the achieved results and affirmed that gender equality and women's advancement are key and long-term tasks. In 2021, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long agreed with the plan set out by the Provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women, especially the implementation of the National Strategy on Gender Equality for the period 2021 - 2030 and programs and projects related to gender equality and prevention and response to gender-based violence for the period 2021 - 2025.
