Restoring nearly 620 pages of Han Nom documents about Con Temple
At the upcoming 2025 Con Temple Festival, besides traditional activities, a notable event is the handover ceremony of restored Han Nom documents about Con Temple.
According to the representative of Hoang Mai town's leadership, in recent years, the town's People's Committee has directed the collection of documents onCon Templeto contribute to promoting the cultural identity of the most sacred temple in Nghe An coastal region.
In 2023, the town digitized the Han Nom documents of Con Temple. By 2024, the town People's Committee continued to coordinate with Nghe An Provincial Museum and Heritage Conservation Technology and Engineering Company Limited to restore the original documents currently stored at Nghe An Museum, and at the same time restore documents for worship at the temple. The restoration process was carried out meticulously, carefully, and strictly by experts, from the processing of Do paper and traditional ink to the restoration of the calligraphy.

The total number of restored documents includes 617 pages, including 496 pages of royal decrees of the Le Trung Hung, Tay Son, and Nguyen dynasties, bestowing beautiful names on the god from 1629 to 1850; 77 pages of royal decrees; 8 pages of royal decrees; 2 pages of notices of the Trinh lords, granting the people of Phuong Can to be the people who created the custom, exempted from all kinds of taxes, corvee labor, and urged the restoration of Con Temple and the court granted offerings to the temple; 20 pages of memorials from the local government sent to the court to report on the creation of the custom; 14 pages of sacred records recording the origin and spiritual response of the god.

The restoration of Han Nom documents for worship at the relic not only has scientific significance but also great spiritual and religious value. This is an important activity contributing to the preservation and promotion of tangible and intangible cultural values of the Con Temple relic, Quynh Phuong ward, Hoang Mai town, Nghe An province.
This year's Con Temple Festival takes place from February 16 to 18, which is January 19 to 21, the year of the Snake.
