Dong Vinh Ward celebrates 20th anniversary

(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of June 18, at Dong Vinh Ward Stadium (Vinh City), the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Vinh Ward solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the ward's establishment (1994 - 2014) and received a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister. Attending were comrades: Vo Viet Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee; Le Ba Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; representatives of leaders of provincial departments and Vinh City People's Committee.

Dong Vinh Ward received a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister.

On June 28, 1994, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 54/TTg to separate Dong Vinh commune into two administrative units: Dong Vinh ward and Hung Dong commune. From a unit facing many difficulties, after 20 years, Dong Vinh ward has now become a ward with a socio-economic development level equal to previous wards and has better development conditions. Currently, the average income of people in the ward reaches 22.5 million VND/year; the poverty rate is only 0.73%; the rate of well-off and rich households is 72%. The rate of malnourished children is only 11.2%. Primary schools, kindergartens, and health stations meet national standards. The infrastructure system has been invested with hundreds of billions of VND (of which people contributed tens of billions of VND and donated more than 50 thousand m²land for road construction). 92% of families meet the Cultural Family standard; 12/14 blocks achieve the title of Cultural Unit.

At the ceremony, authorized by the Prime Minister, Comrade Nguyen Hoai An - Standing Deputy Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee awarded the Prime Minister's certificate of merit to the officials and people of Dong Vinh ward for their achievements in work from 2011 to 2013.
