Dong Vinh Ward celebrates its 20th anniversary.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of June 18th, at the Dong Vinh Ward stadium (Vinh City), the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Vinh Ward solemnly organized a ceremony to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the ward's establishment (1994 – 2014) and to receive a commendation from the Prime Minister. Attending the ceremony were: Mr. Vo Viet Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee; Mr. Le Ba Hung – Provincial Party Committee Member, Head of the Provincial Party Propaganda Department; representatives of provincial-level departments and agencies; and the People's Committee of Vinh City.

Dong Vinh Ward receives a commendation from the Prime Minister.

On June 28, 1994, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 54/TTg dividing Dong Vinh commune into two administrative units: Dong Vinh ward and Hung Dong commune. From a unit facing many difficulties, after 20 years, Dong Vinh ward has now become a ward with a level of socio-economic development comparable to, and even better than, previously existing wards. Currently, the average income of residents in the ward reaches 22.5 million VND/year; the poverty rate is only 0.73%; the rate of well-off and wealthy households reaches 72%. The rate of malnourished children is only 11.2%. The primary school, kindergarten, and health station meet national standards. The infrastructure system has received hundreds of billions of VND in investment (of which the people contributed tens of billions of VND and donated over 50,000 m²).²land for road construction). 92% of families met the criteria for "Culturally Advanced Family"; 12 out of 14 blocks achieved the title of "Culturally Advanced Unit".

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Prime Minister, Comrade Nguyen Hoai An - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee - presented the Prime Minister's commendation certificate to the officials and people of Dong Vinh ward for their achievements in their work from 2011 to 2013.
