What are the methods of rehabilitation for people with disabilities?
(Baonghean) - Since its establishment, Nghe An Rehabilitation Hospital has become a trusted address for disabled patients not only in the province but also in neighboring provinces.
"I thought I would be disabled for life"
That is the thought of many patients that we had the opportunity to meet and talk to at Nghe An Rehabilitation Hospital.
At the age of 25, Nguyen Van Huy (in Thanh Chuong town) became a doctor with many plans for the future, but after only 3 months of working, Huy discovered he had a brain hemangioma. After surgery at a central hospital, Huy was paralyzed on one side and had to use a wheelchair. It seemed like the door to the future had closed, there was no more chance to contribute his youth and fulfill his dreams. However, after only 1 month of rehabilitation treatment at Nghe An Rehabilitation Hospital, Huy was surprised by his rapid recovery, hope returned to Huy's eyes and steps.

"I was admitted to the rehabilitation hospital with left hemiplegia and could not walk. After 1 month of rehabilitation here, I can now walk again. At first, I did not think I would be able to walk again so quickly. The important thing is that the doctors at Nghe An Rehabilitation Hospital have given me a treatment plan that is appropriate for my condition and illness, so I feel that my health has gradually stabilized a lot more than before. I hope that my hand will recover faster in the future so that I can work and continue to fulfill my unfinished dreams."
After a traffic accident, Mr. Dao Van Hien (born in 1991) in Hamlet 6, Linh Son Commune (Anh Son) underwent 3 surgeries. In early April 2018, Mr. Hien was taken by his family to Nghe An Rehabilitation Hospital for rehabilitation in a state of paralysis of both arms and legs, and a broken right femur.

With the patient's condition being quite serious, in order to treat and restore the patient's health so that he can soon reintegrate into the community, the Hospital has instructed the family on appropriate nutritional regimens combined with medication and exercise, such as electrotherapy, electrolysis, electropulse 20 minutes/procedure/time/day; exercise 30 minutes/day; massage 1 area/30 minutes/day. This is one of the severe cases of the patient, having suffered for 3 years, so the family's perseverance is needed. The Hospital will apply the most appropriate treatment methods so that the patient can recover effectively."
Not only the case of Mr. Dao Van Hien or Nguyen Van Huy, but at Nghe An Rehabilitation Hospital, there are currently hundreds of cases of motor disabilities from accidents, strokes, and other diseases that are being treated and rehabilitated here every day and every hour, and have brought about positive results.
For example, Dinh Khanh Bang, 6 years old in Dien Hanh commune (Dien Chau), was paralyzed on the right side of his body, had a slurred speech, and could not move his arms and legs; according to Mrs. Hoang Thi Kim - Bang's grandmother, "The family took him to all the hospitals in the province and the country for treatment, but he still did not improve. After researching, they learned that Nghe An Rehabilitation Hospital could rehabilitate people with disabilities, so the family decided to transfer him to the hospital. After more than 10 days at this hospital, he was taken care of attentively by doctors and nurses, and at the same time applied treatment and rehabilitation methods such as massage combined with physical therapy. Currently, his arms and legs are softer and he can move relatively easily. In particular, he can now call "grandma" and "mom" clearly, instead of speaking with a slurred voice like before. The family is very excited."

Along with providing appropriate treatment regimens, for patients, eating and drinking, in addition to providing nutrition to the body, also plays an extremely important role in disease prevention and treatment.
