(Baonghean.vn) - On October 3rd, British Prime Minister David Cameron condemned IS for the crime of murdering British hostage Alan Henning. On his Twitter page, he called it a "brutal act of murder," showing "how inhuman these people are," and shared his condolences with Alan's wife and children.

US President Barack Obama also "strongly condemned the killing of the British hostage," stating: "We stand with the British people – our allies and friends. Together, we will do everything we can to ensure justice is served on those who killed Alan, as well as those who killed James Foley, Steven Sotloft, and David Haines. Together with our coalition and partners, we will continue to act to weaken and destroy ISIS." Earlier, his advisor, Lisa Monaco, said the authenticity of the video was being verified.
French President Francois Hollande declared in a statement released on the night of October 3rd that "This heinous crime, like previous crimes by IS, will be punished. France will continue to support the people and state of Iraq in their fight against terrorism." (Le Monde, October 4th)
