(Baonghean.vn) - Russia's permanent representative to the European Union said that the West strengthens its monopoly in world processes through sanctions.

Speaking at a meeting of the Group of Friends for the Defense of the UN Charter in Brussels, Russia's Permanent Representative to the European Union, Kirill Logvinov, said that unilateral sanctions and the West's choice to support confrontation with Russia were aimed at strengthening its “monopoly on world processes.”
According to the Russian diplomat, the European Union's interests in President Zelensky's so-called “peace formula” and the rejection of any other proposals put forward by international parties are consistent with the above-mentioned goals.
“Meanwhile, the Ukrainian peace plan not only does not aim at finding a negotiated and diplomatic solution to the crisis, but also represents a meaningless ultimatum to Russia. On this basis, a peaceful solution is impossible,” said Russia’s Permanent Representative to the EU, Kirill Logvinov.
Mr. Logvinov stressed that the West's actions in Ukraine are not related to the principles "enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations as an organization designed to ensure multilateralism, and the coordination of world politics."
