Thu Thuy Ward (Cua Lo Town): Striving to achieve urban civilization standards.

(Baonghean) - Located in the center of Cua Lo town, Thu Thuy ward has the potential for developing tourism and service industries. Therefore, during the past term, the ward continued to develop many types of high-quality tourism services; including strengthening state management of planning and implementing the "5 no's" policy. The value of tourism and service production increased by an average of 7.1% annually, reaching 497.2 billion VND in 2015 and accounting for 85.6% of the economic structure.

Annual labor export reaches 440-465 people, generating a total annual income of 78 billion VND, a crucial factor in the local economic development. Currently, the ward has 138 establishments, an increase of 57 compared to 2010, maintaining stable production and opening many new facilities for processing and manufacturing souvenirs, building materials, civil carpentry, and mechanical repair services. The development of seasonal fishing and aquaculture models meets the needs of markets within and outside the province, and also exports to foreign countries. The total value of production in the ward in 2015 was estimated at 676.6 billion VND; the average per capita income was estimated at 92.5 million VND/year in 2015…

During its term, the ward also focused on constructing and repairing many key projects, contributing to changing the appearance of the central ward of the town. Implementing Resolution No. 09-NQ/ThU on promoting internal resources, in 5 years, the total amount of internal resources mobilized from the people reached nearly 8 billion VND. The total value of production in the construction industry in 2015 was estimated at 171.7 billion VND; the average annual growth rate was 5.1%. Land use right certificates were completed for 1,034 out of 1,099 households, reaching 94%. Regular environmental sanitation was organized in residential areas, parks, beaches, and main roads. Social resources were effectively mobilized to plant trees in the area.

In the socio-cultural field, we continue to strengthen and build a healthy cultural environment, putting the "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life in Residential Areas" campaign into concrete actions. To date, the enrollment rate of children in school has reached 100%; both schools maintain their status as national standard schools. Primary healthcare for the people is given attention, and food safety and hygiene, as well as medical examinations and treatment, are improving. The ward maintains its status as meeting 10 national standards in healthcare; the annual vaccination rate for children of the prescribed age reaches 100%...

The ward has also implemented many poverty reduction programs, facilitating access to loans and creating jobs for workers. The people's material and spiritual lives continue to improve. Three solidarity houses have been built, and the poverty rate in the ward has now decreased to 3%. The work of showing gratitude and caring for policy beneficiaries and those who have contributed to the nation is given attention. The ward has fully and promptly disseminated the Party's views on military and national defense tasks in the new situation. It has ensured absolute safety during peak periods such as holidays and important national days; and protected security and order to support tourism activities. It has strengthened and improved the quality of grassroots organizations working on security and order.

Implementing Resolution No. 4 of the 11th Central Committee on "Some urgent issues concerning Party building today," the Party Committee of Thu Thuy ward focused on leading and directing the decisive resolution of matters requiring immediate action after self-criticism, in accordance with the spirit of Resolution No. 4 of the 11th Central Committee. Emphasis was placed on personnel work and strengthening Party organization building. Continuously from 2010 to 2014, the Thu Thuy ward Party Committee was recognized as a strong and exemplary Party organization, achieving outstanding performance in 2012; annually, 9 out of 10 Party branches achieved strong and exemplary status. During the term, 29 new Party members were admitted.

The achievements and results obtained during the past term serve as motivation for the Party Committee and people of Thu Thuy ward to confidently fulfill the targets for the 2015-2020 term, based on continued investment in infrastructure, focusing on improving the quality of tourism services, accelerating economic growth, contributing to improving the spiritual and material lives of the people; and striving to build the ward into a civilized urban area.
