Each month, about 25 days are spent at sea. A working day for fishing boats using three-net nets usually lasts more than 15 hours, and on unlucky days, crew members have to stay up all night to untangle the nets. Therefore, they have little time to rest, and mainly sleep to regain their strength. |

The netting usually starts from 5am to 8am. The fishermen then rest for about 3 hours and then continue working until late at night. While working, the things that help them forget their fatigue are jokes and nets full of fish. Photo: Tien Hung. |

The ship owner, Mr. Nguyen Van Dien (43 years old), said that each sea trip of his ship usually lasts about 12 days, 2 trips per month. "We can only be on shore for about 5 days a month. Living mainly at sea, everyone is used to a lack of living conditions. We even lack sleep," Mr. Dien said. |

"On the ship, all the crew members consider each other as a family and consider the sea as home.
