Piaggio recalls Liberty ABS in Vietnam
More than 13,000 Liberty ABS vehicles manufactured from September 2015 to December 2016 are at risk of losing stability after long-term use.
Piaggio Vietnam said that this recall program is part of the general policy of the parent group in Italy. The company's periodic inspection process discovered that the main frame tube of the above vehicles is at risk of losing its rigidity after long-term use. If driven a lot on bad roads, overloaded, the bent part of the frame tube will lose its rigidity and may even crack.

The company has not recorded any accidents related to this issue. Piaggio dealers will inspect and reinforce the frame body if necessary, free of charge for customers with Liberty ABS 125 3V ie vehicles subject to recall. The time for each vehicle is approximately 140 minutes.
The recall will last one year, starting from January 20, 2017 to January 20, 2018, at all authorized Piaggio dealers nationwide.
Liberty is a scooter model that has brought success to Piaggio in Vietnam by opening up a new segment of customers with personality and fashion. The vehicle uses a 125cc 3-valve engine, integrated ABS brakes, priced at 55.5 million for the standard version and 56.5 million for the sport version.
