Pierce Brosnan criticizes new 007 blockbuster for being too long and weak script
Former James Bond agent believes that if the script for "Spectre" had been tighter, Daniel Craig could have had another classic role.
"I was really looking forward to Spectre," Pierce Brosnan said in an interview with HitFix. "When I finished watching it, I found it too long and the story weak. Former "James Bond" Pierce Brosnan is disappointed with the new film. |
Despite his disappointment with the script, Pierce spoke well of Daniel Craig. "Daniel Craig is quite good. He is a fierce warrior and understands the character in the new film. If the story is tighter, Daniel Craig will have another classic role thanks to this episode," said the 62-year-old actor.
Pierce was quite sympathetic to the fact that Daniel Craig would rather slit his wrists than play James Bond again after Spectre. The 62-year-old actor commented: "I think he said that when he had just finished a new film and was tired. When you have just finished a film, people often don't want to listen or do anything about it, they just want to go out and have fun first. Give him another year or two, maybe he will have enough energy to play Bond again."
Pierce Brosnan played James Bond four times, from 1995 to 2002 in GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough and Die Another Day. The Irish actor is considered to have a rugged and rugged beauty, suitable for the character of the dashing spy. GoldenEye and Tomorrow Never Dies are two of the best films in the series. He was also the predecessor to play Bond right before Daniel Craig. After leaving the James Bond series, Pierce has regularly appeared on the silver screen in comedies, thrillers and action films.
