Center-back Gerard Pique confirmed that he and his teammates want to win the Spanish King's Cup as a farewell gift to coach Luis Enrique.
Enrique can leave the Nou Camp with his head held highEnrique believes Real can still lose La Liga
Last March, coach Enrique unexpectedly announced that he would leave Barca after the end of this season. Tonight, the Catalan team will enter the final of the Spanish King's Cup against Alaves, the last match of the 47-year-old strategist leading Barca.
Speaking before the match, center-back Pique said: "He (Enrique) is one of the best coaches in Barca's history. We hope to win a title as a farewell gift."
"I know you (meaning journalists) don't have a good relationship with him, but remember Luis won over all of us in the dressing room. I will miss his way of working and I hope he leaves with the most perfect result by winning," Pique added.
Referring to Alaves, Barca's opponent in tonight's match, Pique was extremely impressed with what the Basque team had done despite just winning promotion.
“Alave are the revelation of the season and they are close to making history. We have to be careful with them, especially with players like Deyverson, Theo Hernandez and Kiko Femenia. We have to try to control the ball and create chances,” Pique stressed.
