Pokemon Go Will Stop Working on iOS 11 and Below
According to Niantic, this change is the result of game development to provide the best experience for users.
This also means that iPhone 5 users will no longer be able to play this popular game from February 28. Pokemon Go developer Niantic Labs said this change is to be compatible with Apple's new iOS 11 version:
Niantic's full announcement: "In the upcoming update of Pokemon Go, we will discontinue support for Apple devices that cannot be upgraded to iOS 11, such as the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C. This is the result of upgrading the game to provide a better user experience, and will take effect from February 28. After this time, players on devices that have not been upgraded will not be able to access their accounts, or use Pokecoins or other items in their bags."
