The recalled Porsche Panamera vehicles are standard, S, 4, 4S and Turbo models manufactured from 2010 - 2012. |
The vehicles included in this recall include the Porsche Panamera in standard, S, 4, 4S and Turbo versions. All were produced from 2010 to 2012. In addition, there are some Cayenne Turbo and Cayenne S models produced in 2011.
The recall is caused by the engine system. |
The cause of the recall comes from the engine system. Specifically, through the inspection process, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) determined that the camshaft control part could fall off in the engine, causing the engine to stop working. This can be dangerous for vehicle users in the event of a sudden engine stop.
Porsche has now sent notices to owners of the Panamera and Cayenne vehicles subject to the recall in the US. According to the representative of this luxury sports car brand, the defective vehicles will have the screws on the camshaft adjuster replaced free of charge. However, up to this point, Porsche has not announced the time to inspect and fix the problem for each defective vehicle.

Although highly regarded for their quality, over time, even elaborately crafted luxury cars like Porsche cannot avoid problems. This is not the first time Porsche has recalled the Panamera and Cayenne lines. Previously, in January 2015, the German luxury sports car company also launched a recall campaign for 13,500 Cayenne and Panamera cars to fix a welding defect that could cause fuel evaporation.
