During the annual meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club, one of the participants, a cheese producer, thanked the president for the sanctions, which now give Russian producers more opportunities to develop their businesses. He also said that he tried to give cheese nine times, but it was confiscated by the guards because they "do their job very well". "And they eat very well!" - the president joked.
The businessman recalled that once the security officers promised to deliver a delicious gift to the head of state, so he wondered whether they would keep their promise or eat the cheese presented to the President themselves. "They ate it themselves," Mr. Putin laughed.
Then, without further joking, the president told that once his colleagues gave him several bottles of wine, and the security guards asked him if he wanted to check them or if he would drink them himself. The president replied: "Check them". And so the bottles of wine were "tasted" by the bodyguards. After all, he himself "doesn't drink much", - Mr. Putin added.
