Mr. Bondarev is no longer the Commander of the Russian Aerospace Forces since September 26, according to the order of Russian President Putin, Tass news agency reported.

He was also forced to leave the army, the official legal information portal of the Russian government posted. However, the reason for the new decision was not clear. Mr. Bondarev's temporary replacement is Mr. Pavel Kurachenko, Lieutenant General, First Deputy Commander of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

The Russian president also dismissed three other senior officials, including Vice Admiral Valery Kulikov, deputy commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Lyubov Glebova, head of the Russian Federal Agency for International Cooperation, and Sergey Arenin, director of the Saratov region of the Interior Ministry.
