Putin declares Russia will not play by 'rules' set by anyone
(Baonghean.vn) - Moscow will not follow the “so-called rules” set and imposed by “certain countries,” Russian President Vladimir Putin declared, as he delivered a speech at a meeting of the Russian Legislative Assembly in St. Petersburg.

Mr Putin said that Russia is currently suffering from “economic aggression” from the West, and called on lawmakers and other agencies to take proactive action instead of trying to “wait” for this difficult period to pass. He stressed that the ultimate goal is to create “a basis for the long-term, independent and successful development of our country”.
The international diplomatic system has been severely eroded recently, with “some countries” imposing their own “rules,” Mr. Putin noted. “Our partners, or, shall we say, former partners, in some countries are frantically destroying the legal framework and communication channels, trying to impose their views and rules on everyone. And what are those rules? … No one sees them,” he said.
In addition, President Putin explained that Russia does not want to fall into a state of “self-isolation” and is still ready for fair cooperation with “friendly countries”. “We will expand our substantive, equal, mutually beneficial, exclusive partnership with friendly countries in Eurasia, Africa and Latin America”. He noted that Russia has “many like-minded people” in Western countries, including the United States. “However, elites behave differently. But you and I both know that the elites of these countries do not always pursue a policy that is in the best interests of their people. This will haunt them,” he warned./.
