Putin visits victims of fire in Russia
President Vladimir Putin this morning visited the Winter Cherry shopping mall, where a fire killed 64 people.

InterfaxPutin was reported to have been at Winter Cherry in the city of Kemerovo, Western Siberia, since early morning. He laid a bouquet of roses at the memorial corner set up by residents near the building to express condolences to the victims.
Russia's newly re-elected President Sergey Mejaylo,The presidential envoy to Siberia also inspected the facade of the burned-out shopping mall. He is expected to hear reports from fire authorities and local officials about the fire.
The fire started on the fourth floor of Winter Cherry on the afternoon of March 25, quickly engulfing about 1,500 square meters. Of the 64 people killed, most were children who had come with their parents and friends to have fun here on the weekend, when the school holidays had just begun. 25 bodies have been identified, 60 injured people are being treated in hospital.

The Kremlin earlier issued a statement saying President Putin "sent his deep condolences to the relatives and friends of those killed".
Local authorities have declared three days of mourning for the victims, starting today. The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has ordered inspections of fire-fighting systems at all shopping malls across the country.
