During this four-day meeting, the participating countries hope to reach an agreement before the upcoming ministerial conference, scheduled to take place in Singapore on May 19 and 20.

According to expectations, the chief negotiators of the 12 TPP member countries will focus on resolving outstanding issues such as tariffs, particularly in areas like agricultural products, intellectual property rights, and state-owned enterprise reform.

Besides the TPP, the Ministry of Industry and Trade expects that this year, Vietnam will finalize negotiations on other free trade agreements with the European Union (EU) and a customs union with Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
