Russian official declares: 'America is about to use nuclear weapons in Europe'
The deployment of US nuclear weapons in Europe is preparation for their use with the permission of European non-nuclear states themselves, said Vladimir Yermakov, Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Department for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation.
After the warning, Mr. Yermakov said: "Unfortunately, some countries dependent on Washington pretend that nothing is happening, or maybe they are simply afraid to reflect on the provocative nature of this decision, when in the 21st century, Europe is preparing to use nuclear weapons with the help of non-nuclear states."
He also criticized European countries for allowing Washington to endanger itself.
“How can we seriously talk about strengthening the nuclear non-proliferation regime when seemingly “civilized” countries in Europe continue to put themselves on the brink of nuclear catastrophe and total self-destruction?”, - Mr. Yermakov commented.
