Persistent viewpoint in the process of building and developing the country

Attending the Summit between the Communist Party of China and political parties around the world on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's speech discussing with political parties on the topic "For the happiness of the people, the responsibility of the political party" immediately received high support and left a deep impression in the hearts of international friends.

In his speech, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized, "The pursuit of happiness is the aspiration and legitimate right of all people. It is the aspiration for a good society where everyone can develop comprehensively; live a prosperous, happy life, in peace, everyone is equal to each other, loves and helps each other."

That was also the guiding ideology and practical action throughout the revolutionary life of President Ho Chi Minh, the founder of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the great leader of the Vietnamese nation. During his lifetime, he often reminded party members to always be imbued with the viewpoint that "all benefits are for the people, all powers belong to the people". The first political platform of the Communist Party of Vietnam determined that the fundamental task of the Vietnamese revolution is to meet the urgent needs of the nation and the earnest aspirations of the people.

Over the past 90 years, the Communist Party of Vietnam has led the Vietnamese people from one victory to another, successfully realizing the nation's burning desire to gain independence, preserve national independence, unify the country, build and develop the country to become increasingly rich and strong. The Vietnamese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, have firmly built and protected the country's independence, won many victories in the fight to protect the Fatherland as well as achieved great achievements in the cause of innovation and national development.

Vietnam is currently a developing country, reaching the average income level, one of the fastest growing economies in the world; cultural development, people's material and spiritual life has been improved, belonging to the group of countries with high human development index of the United Nations, especially compared to countries with the same level of development; becoming an active and responsible member of the international community... Over the past year, in efforts to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Party and State have always put the health and safety of people first; both proactively and actively preventing and effectively fighting the epidemic, while promoting economic recovery and development, ensuring social security.

Amidst numerous difficulties, the Vietnamese people still have faith in the leadership of the Party and the management of the Government; encourage and support each other to overcome difficulties and contribute money, effort, and determination to join the Government in repelling the epidemic and stabilizing life. With the national tradition, the spirit of the people, by the people and for the people, the Government and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front have called on the people to unite and join hands, and in a short time, the Covid-19 Prevention and Control Fund and the Covid-19 Vaccine Fund have received a large amount of support, contributing to promoting the implementation of preventive measures and protecting people's health.

It can be said that throughout the process of leading the revolution, the Communist Party of Vietnam has always been trusted, agreed with and supported by the people, thanks to which the country has overcome difficult periods and steadily stepped forward on the path of construction and development. That is because since its inception, the Communist Party of Vietnam has always represented the will and aspirations of the entire people; all policies, guidelines of the Party, policies, laws and activities of the State are for the benefit of the people, taking the happiness of the people as the goal to strive for. In particular, the Party is always closely attached to the people, relying on the strength of the people, respecting and listening to the opinions of the people. Therefore, the achievements of Vietnam today are the crystallization of creativity, the result of a process of persistent and continuous efforts of the Communist Party of Vietnam and all the people.

At the 13th National Congress, one of the lessons the Communist Party of Vietnam drew from the 35 years of renovation was that in all work of the Party and State, it is necessary to thoroughly grasp the viewpoint that "people are the root"; truly trust, respect and promote the people's right to mastery, persistently implement the motto "people know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise, people benefit". The people are the center, the subject of the renovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland; all guidelines and policies must truly originate from the lives, aspirations, rights and legitimate interests of the people; take the happiness and prosperity of the people as the goal to strive for. Tighten the close relationship between the Party and the people, rely on the people to build the Party; consolidate and strengthen the people's trust in the Party, the State and the socialist regime.

From Vietnam's practical experiences, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed that, with the nation's will and determination to develop a prosperous and happy country, the Party, State and people of Vietnam are making efforts to strengthen the building of a clean, strong, comprehensive Party and political system that operates effectively and efficiently; comprehensively and synchronously promote the renovation, industrialization and modernization process; continue to effectively implement the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification and comprehensive and extensive international integration; be ready to be a friend, a reliable partner and an active and responsible member of the international community; expand relations and promote cooperation with political and social forces and people of other countries, striving for peace, national independence, democracy, cooperation, development and social progress.

Pointing out the challenges that people of all countries are facing such as socio-economic crisis, socio-political instability, climate change, environmental pollution, terrorist activities, the Covid-19 pandemic that has deeply affected all aspects of life..., the General Secretary shared: It is necessary to take the people as the center, consider the happiness of the people as the highest goal to serve as the basis for building and implementing appropriate and effective laws and policies. Promoting the spirit of solidarity and shared responsibility among nations and political parties contributes to building friendship, respect and mutual support among peoples, for the common good future of humanity. In particular, at present, the urgent task of nations, political parties and socio-political organizations is to soon repel the Covid-19 pandemic, quickly restore economic development, and ensure social security. To carry out this task, according to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, in addition to mobilizing internal strength, effective international cooperation is very important, including ensuring supply and equal and timely access to vaccines to prevent epidemics.

Believing in the strength, power and intelligence of the people is one of the basic qualities of a communist. The message of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong once again affirmed: "The people are the root" is both the goal, the driving force and the lesson from the victory of all policies, guidelines and strategies of our Party and State. The strength of the Party lies in its close attachment to the people and its popularity. All policies and strategies of the Party and State originate from the legitimate interests and aspirations of the people, with the goal of caring for the people's lives. Our country has therefore achieved great achievements of historical significance, "never before has it had such a foundation, potential, position and international prestige as it does today"./.
