British military fears Russian submarines will enter territorial waters, threatening security
The British military is concerned that Russian "ultra-quiet" diesel-electric submarines of Project 636.3 "Varshirlanka" will be able to penetrate the country's territorial waters, without being detected by the royal fleet, according to The Daily Telegraph citing sources in the British Armed Forces.

According to the publication's interlocutors, submarines can track the movements of the British Navy in the North Atlantic and connect to undersea communication cables, posing a serious threat to the safety of London.
"The new head of the Royal Navy should deliver credible underwater defences. We need to be the best at this job," the source said.
Project 636.3 "Varshirlanka" is Russia's third generation submarine. They are equipped with the latest inertial navigation system, modern automated information management system, high-precision missile weapons and powerful torpedo weapons. Russia has built 6 submarines of this project for the Black Sea Fleet.
