According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Cambodia, on July 20, at the headquarters of the 70th Brigade, Royal Cambodian Army, in Kandal province, the Command of Military Region 7, Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam and the 70th Brigade, Royal Cambodian Army, held a ceremony to inaugurate the headquarters building, housing, and warehouse constructed with aid funds from the Command of Military Region 7, Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam.

Attending the ceremony were General Pol Saroeun, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Army; Major General Phan Tan Tai, Deputy Commander of Military Region 7; Colonel Nguyen Van Chung, Deputy Defense Attaché of Vietnam in Cambodia, along with numerous generals, officers, and soldiers of the Royal Cambodian Army.

The facilities, built with aid from Military Region 7, Ministry of National Defence of Vietnam, include a three-story office building on an area of ​​300m2; a barracks building with an area of ​​270m2; and a military warehouse with an area of ​​450m2.

The 70th Brigade is a rapid-fire unit, considered the most elite main force of the Cambodian infantry, with the primary mission of protecting Phnom Penh and key targets. It also has a long-standing and friendly cooperative relationship with Military Region 7.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Pol Saroeun, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Army, expressed his sincere gratitude for the dedicated assistance of Military Region 7 in particular and the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence in general to Brigade 70 and the Royal Cambodian Army.

According to General Pol Saroeun, the support and assistance from Military Region 7 and the Vietnamese army have made a significant contribution to Cambodia's security and defense, enhancing the combat capabilities of the Royal Cambodian Army in the new era.

According to the Protocol on Defense Cooperation signed by the leaders of the Ministries of Defense of Vietnam and Cambodia, in 2015, the Vietnamese Army will continue to provide the Royal Cambodian Army with approximately 4 million USD for basic construction activities.
