According to AP, the Israeli military said it carried out airstrikes on the Gaza Strip after rockets were fired from Palestinian territory into Israeli territory. There have been no reports of casualties so far.

These attacks were in retaliation for a rocket launch that was intercepted mid-air by Israeli air defenses. No party has yet claimed responsibility for the rocket attack.
Israeli Army spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner stated that Israel holds Hamas responsible for the attack.
