The US military completely overwhelms Russia and China

The American magazine National Interest has just assessed that the US military still dominates the world in terms of Navy, Army and Air Force.

The American magazine National Interest (NI) recently published an article ranking the world's military powers in all three branches: navy, air force and army, from which it concluded which country is currently the world's number 1 military power.

In the list of the three military branches, the "trio" of superpowers Russia, the United States and China all occupy the top three positions. In which, the US military still holds the world's dominant position in all three fields, surpassing the two countries ranked below, China and Russia.

About the Navy

According to National Interest, the Top 5 countries with the most powerful naval forces in the world are the United States, China, Russia, the United Kingdom and Japan.

The US currently has a small number of ships, less than China, but the quality and total displacement are several times larger than Russia and China combined.

The US Navy currently owns 10 aircraft carriers, which could increase to 12 in the future, along with several dozen large amphibious assault ships capable of carrying modern fighter jets, deployed across the world's oceans.

This number of aircraft carriers and amphibious ships allows the US to exert its air and naval power across the world's oceans. The US navy can also land on any continent from the sea - something that Russia and China still cannot do several decades later.

Decades later, the Russian and Chinese navies are still not as strong as the US Navy.

China currently has the fastest growing navy in the world, with huge investments in its “Blue Sea Fleet,” but only in terms of numbers. Beijing also has no overseas naval bases, making it unable to project power beyond the South China Sea and East China Sea.

Currently, the Chinese navy has the largest number of surface ships and submarines in the world, but these equipment still cannot compare with Russia, the US, or even the UK and France in terms of quality. At the same time, China's long-range attack capabilities are still limited, not comparable to the above powers.

The Russian Navy also possesses a large number of warships. The Russian Navy currently has 79 large warships, including one aircraft carrier, five cruisers, 13 destroyers and 52 submarines.

In terms of quality, the Russian navy is now on par with the US and far superior to the rest. With the advantage of a powerful nuclear submarine fleet and a surface force (including very small ships) capable of strong anti-ship/anti-land attacks, the Russian navy deserves to be the most formidable opponent of the US.

About the army

It can be seen that the US army will still maintain its monopoly in military technology development, however, the US has wrongly invested in overly expensive weapons while ignoring conventional weapons, causing the US army to gradually lose its advantage over the Russian and Chinese armies.

The US will have super weapons but not enough to protect its military forces globally, while rivals like Russia and China invest in a series of other conventional weapons that tilt the local advantage in their favor.

In the ranking of the world's strongest Air Forces, NI only ranked four countries: the United States, Russia, China and Japan. Of which, the United States currently leads the world in the quantity and quality of tactical fighters and strategic bombers.

With more than 230 strategic bombers, including the B-52 Stratofortress, B-1B Lancer and especially the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber, the US long-range bomber force currently surpasses the combined Russian and Chinese strategic air forces.

Meanwhile, the Russian strategic air force has about 138 long-range bombers, of three types: Tu-160 Blackjack, Tu-95MS Bear-H, Tu-22M3 Backfire C. China only has 40 medium-range, subsonic bombers H-6K and H-6M that can still be used until 2030.

Therefore, in terms of both quantity and quality, Russian and Chinese strategic air forces are far inferior to those of the US.

Although slightly larger than China, the Russian air force is still far behind the US air force.

Regarding tactical air force, data in the US Department of Defense report shows that the United States is still the world's leading country in tactical air force potential, with a total of about 2,700 fighter planes, China and Russia ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively with about 1,500 planes.
