US military drops 'huge' bombs on Afghanistan
Reuters/AFP reported that the US military said it dropped a non-nuclear bomb GBU-43, also known as the "mother of all bombs," in eastern Afghanistan on April 13, targeting a series of caves used by Islamic State (IS) militants.

In a statement, US Forces Afghanistan said the bomb hit "an underground tunnel system" in Achin district, Nangarhar province.
The attack took place at 19:32 local time (15:02 GMT).
Pentagon spokesman Adam Stump said this was the first time this type of bomb had been used on the battlefield and was dropped from an MC-130 aircraft./
