The Russian military has begun building its own Internet network called the Multi-Service Information Transmission Network (MTSS). The project will last for two years, with the first phase ending at the end of 2019. The MTSS uses fiber optic cables, has its own search engine, and a cloud computing service similar to iCloud to serve the needs of the force.

The representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense said that MTSS will not be connected to the global Internet to avoid hacker attacks. Russian bases in the Arctic or remote areas in the Far East will be connected to this network system. MTSS has a log of activities and identities of military personnel. The database in MTSS will be continuously updated with information about the activities of all branches of the Russian armed forces.

North Korea's state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on March 12 that the country cannot host a regional meeting of the World Health Organization (WHO) due to sanctions imposed by the United Nations. According to KCNA, Kim Song, North Korea's top envoy to the United Nations, sent a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres explaining why sanctions are making it difficult for Pyongyang to host the WHO meeting scheduled for September.

In the letter, Mr. Kim Song said that the UN Security Council had not allowed the transport of necessary IT-related equipment for the WHO Regional Committee meeting into North Korea. KCNA stated that the move had caused "an unprecedented abnormal situation in the history of WHO", according to which North Korea would not be able to hold a regional meeting of the organization as scheduled.
