"Today, the internal political crisis in Ukraine and the upcoming elections directly affect the situation in Donbass. On the eve of the presidential elections, the Ukrainian army, under Poroshenko's orders, intensified shelling of cities and towns in Donbass located on the border. Civilians continue to die unjustly, houses and kindergartens are destroyed," Pushilin said.

The head of the DNR explained that the Ukrainian authorities are trying to use this method to distract people's attention from domestic problems.

"The Kiev authorities are trying to distract voters from their internal problems, economic collapse, foreign policy failures, and blame all their mistakes on us and the Russian Federation. At the same time, Kiev is actively using the principle of double morality, when all the accusations against us are not only unsupported by evidence, but sometimes contradict common sense," he said.

Mr. Pushilin stressed that territorial defense battalions are deliberately aggravating the situation in Donbass. Ukrainian intelligence agencies organize and carry out terrorist attacks on the facilities that ensure the life of Donbass.
