Military Region 4 extracted nearly 300 pieces of information about the graves of fallen soldiers.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 1st, in Vinh City, the Steering Committee 1237 of Military Region 4 held a meeting to approve the plan for surveying and gathering information on the graves of martyrs who died in the Military Region 4 area, both domestically and in Laos, in preparation for the dry season repatriation mission of 2017-2018 by the repatriation teams under the Military Command of the 6 provinces of Military Region 4.

During the 2016-2017 dry season, the repatriation teams under the Military Command of 6 provinces conducted surveys of nearly 350 locations, identifying almost 735 graves of martyrs who died in Laos and within Vietnam. The units searched for and recovered 305 remains of martyrs, which were then reburied in cemeteries in a dignified, respectful, and thorough manner, in accordance with State regulations.

Currently, based on the information gathered from nearly 300 sources regarding the graves of martyrs who died in Laos and within Vietnam, the Military Region's Steering Committee 1237 requests that units develop plans and organize forces and resources to conduct thorough surveys and gather information about martyrs' graves. The survey process, along with the gathering of additional information and verification of martyrs' grave information, will serve as a basis for the successful implementation of the 2017-2018 dry season's search and repatriation of martyrs' remains.
