However, many years have passed, and the search has not yet yielded results due to the terrain and topography changing too much, the witnesses being old and weak, and their memory declining.

Staff of the 968th Division's Collection Team conduct the exhumation of martyrs' remains. |
On March 24, 2021, in Tan Xa village, Ba Long commune, the team discovered a set of remains and many relics. Continuing to expand the search area, the team has so far found 11 more remains along with relics. According to the opinions of some witnesses as well as local people, the above area during the resistance war against the US belonged to Ba Long War Zone - the fighting area of the 6th Phu Xuan Regiment with the enemy in 1965 and is the suspected burial place of 53 martyrs who died on the night of October 19, 1965. Therefore, the team is currently continuing to expand the search area to cover all the double bomb craters provided by witnesses.
The Collection Team of Division 968 and Economic-Defense Group 337 respectfully request that agencies, units, and veterans at home and abroad who participated in combat and served in combat in the above-mentioned area, who know any information about the remains of martyrs who have just been collected, cooperate in providing information to facilitate the process of searching, collecting, and identifying the martyrs.
