(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 26, 2014, the 4th Military Region held a ceremony to launch the 2014 training season. Attending the ceremony were members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Command, and heads of the Military Region's agencies.

At the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Tan Cuong, alternate member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the 4th Military Region, emphasized the following regarding the 2014 combat training order of the Military Region Commander: In 2014, the armed forces of Military Region 4 continued to effectively implement Resolution 765-NQ/QUTW of the Central Military Commission and Resolution 269-NQ/DU of the Military Region Party Committee on improving the quality of training in the 2013-2020 period. This included focusing on training according to the motto "Basic, practical, and solid," emphasizing comprehensive and in-depth training, and closely integrating military training with political education. Training was closely aligned with tasks, targets, geographical areas, and actual combat situations, with high intensity and a focus on practical application. Emphasis was placed on breakthroughs in regulations, building a regular and disciplined force from the headquarters to the units.

Training and professional development for agencies will enhance their capacity and effectiveness in providing advice and recommendations, creating positive changes in work habits, conduct, and methods, and directing local units to effectively carry out training tasks. For subordinate units, the focus will be on training troops to proficiently use all weapons and equipment in their inventory and master new weapons and equipment. 100% of officers will receive training according to their rank, with 90% of battalion and equivalent officers, and 70% of company and platoon officers achieving a good rating. The ability to mobilize forces and equipment will be improved to enable flexible combat deployment, strong independent combat skills, and successful handling of various situations. The development of exemplary models and their replication will continue, strengthening regularization and discipline, striving to reduce the rate of disciplinary violations among military personnel to below 0.2%, and minimizing serious incidents.

At the training commencement ceremony, officers and soldiers of the Military Region headquarters launched a high-intensity emulation campaign to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory with the theme "Following in the footsteps of the Dien Bien Phu soldiers - Advancing to achieve three decisive victories" from March 3, 2014 to May 7, 2014, which are: the best sense of responsibility and commitment, achieving the highest results in political tasks, and strictly adhering to discipline. Effectively implementing the campaign "Promoting traditions, contributing talents, and living up to the name of Uncle Ho's soldiers".

The 2014 training commencement ceremony of the 4th Military Region concluded with collective singing and dancing performances and martial arts demonstrations by officers and soldiers of units under the Military Region and the Military Region's performing arts troupe, creating a more competitive spirit for the initial days of the campaign to achieve even greater success.
