Good management, effective use of national defense land

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 30, 2014, in Hanoi, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army held an online conference to review 2 years (2013, 2014) of implementing Directive No. 90/CT-BQP dated August 16, 2012 of the Minister of National Defense on the management and use of National Defense land.

There were 106 points of connection in the whole army participating in the conference. Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff, Deputy Minister of National Defense chaired the conference. Comrade Dinh Viet Hong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired at the Nghe An point of connection.

The conference frankly mentioned the advantages, difficulties, and achievements in implementing Directive 90/CT-BQP in the past 2 years. Agencies and units throughout the army have regularly coordinated closely with local Party committees and authorities to effectively perform the function of state management of defense land in accordance with the guidance of the Land Law. However, the conference also pointed out: In some localities, the management and use of defense land is not good, there are still overlapping issues, disputes, and encroachment on defense land, and the combination of economy and defense in some projects in some localities is not good...

Concluding the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty emphasized: In the coming time, military agencies and units need to closely coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Government's Decisions and Directives, and Directive 90/CT-BQP of the Ministry of National Defense; Step by step promote propaganda and education on the purpose and significance of defense land management and use; Conduct reviews, measurements, and inventory of the current status, clearly defining defense land boundaries nationwide; Step by step resolve disputed and overlapping areas; Resolutely and strictly handle subjects encroaching on defense land in accordance with the law; In particular, it is necessary to combine the economy with national defense in projects in strategic and key terrains and areas, projects with foreign elements, to avoid loopholes for the enemy to exploit and sabotage... It is recommended that leaders of provinces and cities nationwide closely coordinate with the Ministry of National Defense, Military Services, Military Regions, and local armed forces to successfully complete the task of managing and using national defense land in the area, and to successfully carry out the two strategic tasks of "Building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam" in the current new situation....
