Russian servicemen monitor the actions of US Navy warships in the Black Sea
(Baonghean.vn) - The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the patrol ship Pytlivyi of the Russian Black Sea Fleet is monitoring the actions of the US Navy warship Fort McHenry, a large ship that entered the Black Sea area yesterday, January 6.

The Russian Defense Ministry's announcement stated that the Black Sea Fleet's patrol ship Pytlivyi is conducting a series of measures to monitor the actions of the US Navy's large amphibious transport and landing ship Fort McHenry.
The announcement noted that the US Navy's amphibious assault ship was present in the Black Sea from 9 p.m. on January 6, Moscow time (1 a.m. on January 7, Hanoi time). Vice Admiral Lisa M. Franchetti - Commander of the US 6th Fleet said that the Fort McHenry's passage through the Black Sea demonstrates the commitment to ensuring security in this sea area.
Last December, US Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker stressed that Washington should consider the possibility of increasing its presence in the Black Sea.
