Champion of 'Familiar Faces 2016': Judge Hoai Linh did not favor me at all

The champion of "Familiar Faces 2016" said he won the show without any interference from the judges.

- How did you feel when you won first prize in the fourth season of "Familiar Faces"?

-I was very surprised with this victory. First place in Familiar Faces is a breakthrough in my artistic career. I hope the audience will know my name and recognize my talent. I think this victory has an element of luck because the Top 4 are all talented.The resonance of the audience that night made my performance better than when I practiced. If I said that the victory was entirely due to talent, people would think I was arrogant, if I said that it was luck, this result was not due to my efforts. Therefore, I think the audience has the answer to why I won the championship.

Bach Cong Khanh received the championship prize of "Familiar Faces 2016".

-Why did you choose to transform into the artist Snow White?

-I am a singer and an actor so I want to combine both acting and singing on stage. In Vietnam, I think only Cai Luong can combine both elements. I chose the image of artist Bach Tuyet first because she has the same last name as me. That made me think of her name as soon as the idea came to me. When I dress up as a woman, if I am charming enough, the judges will like me and have more sympathy.

- What do you think about the comments that your performance as Snow White is not good enough, especially your excessive wriggling?

- In my opinion, graveA woman twisting her body five times is already too much. I am a man, if I twist my body normally, I am just a man in makeup and wearing female clothes. This means that all male contestants who dress as women in the show have to exaggerate a bit to create the feeling that they are watching a woman. If I only act at the level that Snow White did, my performance will easily become a comedy.

I dressed as a girl for more than half of the show. I didn't do this on purpose, but randomly when the organizers drew lots for the challenge.I have no intention of continuing my cross-dressing image on the music stage. If the audience requests, I will act, but it will still only be an incarnation of the familiar face image.

-How is your relationship with Hoai Linh when the male judge gave you many compliments in the competition episodes, especially the final night?

-I had the opportunity to co-star in the video Than Tai with Hoai Linh and thought it was a fateful encounter. When I met my senior, I shared a lot about my career to get his advice. That was the only time I received his advice. Coming to the familiar face, I almost never met Hoai Linh outside the show stage because I didn't have the opportunity. Many people said he favored me, but that was not true.

The male judge is a picky and critical person. Therefore, every time I receive encouragement from him, I feel very happy and excited.Mr. Hoai Linh complimented me but not all compliments mean high scores. There were times when I was complimented a lot but only received 7 points.

- Your name is not known to many people, so some people think that participating in the contest is to introduce yourself. What do you think?

- Before joining Familiar Faces, I competed in many big and small singing shows. I used to be active in the arts but retired for a while. Now I'm back in a time when the music market is rich and diverse, the name Bach Cong Khanh is not known to many people. I joined the contest as a way for people to know me.

- There was a time when you retired, why was that?

- My job was not going well, my family had some sad events so I was depressed and did not want to continue my artistic work. During my unemployment, I lived on the support of my parents. However, my passion for art always smoldered inside me. My family and friends saw it and encouraged me a lot to return to my career.

- After "Familiar Faces", what are your plans?

-I will be releasing a pre-planned single as well as being the captain of the Little Hero program.
