Special attention to ethnic minority, religious, working and disadvantaged youth
(Baonghean) - 2012-2017 is a term of diverse and practical activities in all aspects of life of the Youth Union members of Nghe An province, in which the volunteer movement and creative activities of the Youth Union at all levels stand out.
Practical works and projects
Youth volunteer activities for community life have developed in both quantity and quality, and have become increasingly profound, attracting a large number of union members and young people to participate and the attention and support of the whole society.
Throughout the countryside from the plains to the remote borders, everywhere there are the volunteer footsteps of the "green shirt army" climbing mountains and wading streams to carry out extremely practical and meaningful projects and tasks.
The days of exposure to the sun and rain, tired legs from moving a lot, and sweaty backs, have brought the young volunteers the most beautiful years of their youth filled with memories.
Cao Thi Thu Hien (a student of the Faculty of Law, Vinh University) shared: “Summer 2017 was the first time I volunteered in Chau Thanh commune, Quy Hop district. Although I am not used to hard work like the boys, whatever the boys can do, we can do too. Volunteering is very hard, very difficult, but fun.”
And member Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh (Nghe An Province Traditional Medicine Hospital) confided: “Having to go there and interact with poor patients, I realized that the people here are in need of health care, a place where people really need me. Every place I go, I want to come back and promise myself to go more so that the poor people have the conditions to receive health care.”

During each trip, in addition to screening people, young doctors also focus on consulting to help people take care of their own health and their families' health; and promote measures to prevent and combat common diseases and accidents.
In remote, border areas with many difficulties in facilities and medical equipment, the young doctors and nurses have left a good impression on the people. Ms. Vi Thi Tho, a preschool teacher in Dooc May commune (Ky Son) shared: "The doctors from the province came to examine patients and give medicine, the people here were very happy. When they heard the news, everyone came early, even though they had to wade through several streams to arrive late, the doctors still patiently waited and examined carefully."
Every year, volunteer campaigns with many exciting activities, bearing the mark of young volunteers such as: building new rural areas, responding to natural disasters, floods, preventing forest fires, providing free medical examinations and medicine for people in difficult circumstances, families with meritorious services, supporting exam season...
| The Provincial Youth Union has established 400 youth volunteer teams with the participation of more than 8,000 members; 300 volunteer teams to support the exam season, helping nearly 60,000 candidates, distributing thousands of free meals... Established the Provincial Young Doctors Association, maintained the operation of 21 District Young Doctors Clubs; organized free medical examinations and medicine distribution for nearly 52,000 people with a value of more than 3 billion VND. There were 42,696 units of blood donated; 15 Charity Porridge Clubs operated effectively. |
Creative imprints
Not only promoting the spirit of volunteering for the community, thousands of young volunteers also participated in many movements and creative and effective activities launched by the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee. Typical of the creative spirit in organizing Youth Union activities of Nghe An in the 2012 - 2017 term, it is worth mentioning the launching of the Youth Union's activities; comprehensive sponsorship of poor students and those in difficult circumstances; and building a chain of production and consumption of clean agricultural products for youth economic models.

In 2017, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union launched 3 activities to celebrate the country's major holidays, youth activities and events. Most recently, on September 23, the province's youth union members enthusiastically organized a activities to celebrate the provincial Youth Union Congress with the theme "Aspiration for Youth".
In the mountainous commune of Dong Van, Tan Ky district, at the hall of the People's Committee, when we arrived, we saw nearly 500 youth union members gathered to sing and dance happily in the hall. Games were played and many happy faces and bursts of laughter rose like waves. Interspersed with that joy, the youth union members of Dong Van commune received information about the activities of the provincial youth union organizations, information about the provincial Youth Union Congress...
In addition, the activities are also an opportunity for youth union members to meet, exchange and express their thoughts and aspirations to the Youth Union at all levels. Through the activities of the whole Union, youth union members have the opportunity to meet and exchange, strengthen solidarity and gather grassroots forces. This is also a form for leaders of branches to grasp the situation at the grassroots level and the thoughts of youth union members in order to have better direction and leadership.
In addition to the general activities of the union, the union chapters at all levels have also implemented many forms of support for union members and young people to develop economic models, exchange experiences, and link production and business. The union chapters at all levels have supported many projects to borrow capital, contributing to creating jobs for many workers.
Many units organize vocational competitions and technical demonstrations to help improve the skills and qualifications of union members and young people. Youth start-up support activities have initially received attention from the Youth Union at all levels, organizing many propaganda activities, supporting information and skills for young people to start a business, the "Startup Ideas and Projects" contest launched by the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has attracted many union members and young people to participate.

The Youth Union also established a Youth Cooperative to create stable output, consume products for businesses, farms, and households owned by youth; create clean product lines to serve the market. The beginning of the sustainable development chain was the opening event of the clean agricultural products booth of the youth at the end of September.
| During the 2012-2017 term, the Youth Union at all levels provided career counseling and guidance for more than 26,000 young people, labor export counseling and study abroad counseling for 9,409 young people, vocational training and job referrals for 11,136 young people with a capital of more than 4.1 billion VND, supporting 150 projects, creating jobs for more than 1,000 workers. The Youth Entrepreneurship Support Fund of Nghe An province supported 1.4 billion VND for 28 projects, creating jobs for more than 60 workers. The whole province has 241 models with income of over 50 million VND, 330 models with income from 100 - 200 million VND, 252 models with income of over 200 million VND. The province has organized 2 competitions for skilled workers in the mechanical industry for young workers. Currently, there are 2,790 branches, clubs, groups, teams, and groups. The Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association has 180 members; the Young Doctors Association has 500 members. |
In addition, the creativity in directing and implementing the activities of the Youth Union of Nghe An Province is also clearly demonstrated through the launching of each grassroots Youth Union organization to comprehensively sponsor a school for children and poor students with difficult circumstances. Accordingly, each child sponsored by the Youth Union organization will be supported with money and necessary items for studying and living regularly every month until the age of 18. The support fund is contributed by the Youth Union members and called for support. By September 2017, the whole province had 60 students and children with difficult circumstances sponsored by grassroots Youth Union branches.

Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, term XVI Pham Tuan Vinh affirmed: “The Provincial Youth Union will continue to focus on expanding creative and effective ways of doing things. The content and methods of youth solidarity and gathering will continue to be innovated in a direction that is more suitable to the needs, aspirations and interests of the youth, with special attention paid to ethnic minority youth, religious youth, working youth and disadvantaged youth. Youth Union chapters at all levels need to strengthen the building of core and nucleus forces in movements; focus on activities at the grassroots level, especially youth union branches and associations in religious areas and particularly difficult areas, contributing to improving the effectiveness of youth solidarity and gathering work”.
