Quang Hai is calm when facing his teammates in U23 Vietnam
Hanoi midfielder aims to defeat HAGL in the make-up match of round 3 of Nuti Café V-League 2018 tonight, April 5.
“I don’t care that I, Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong... were teammates in the U23 Asian tournament. When returning to the club, everyone must contribute to their team. That isvery normal in football", midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai shared.
The match between Hanoi and HAGL is considered a "civil war" of U23 Vietnam. These are the two teams that contributed the most players to the silver medal victory of the U23 Asia tournament in January. Typical of them are Quang Hai, Duy Manh, Dinh Trong... on Hanoi's side, and Xuan Truong, Cong Phuong, Phan Van Hau, Vu Van Thanh... on HAGL's side.
“If the head coach trusts me and gives me the opportunity to play, I will play my best. The goal is of course to win and get three more points for the club,” Quang Hai added.
Quang Hai and Cong Phuong had to put aside their teammate relationship to fight each other. |
Quang Hai was the top scorer for U23 Vietnam in the tournament in China, and most of them were masterpieces from his very strange left foot. But tReturning to the club, the midfielder from Dong Anh has not regained his form, and has not scored any goals in V-League 2018. On the other side of the front line, HAGL has three players who used to wear the U23 Vietnam shirt and have scored: Xuan Truong, Van Toan and Hong Duy.
In terms of form, Hanoi is better, standing second with 7 points after 3 matches. HAGL is 5 places lower, with only 5 points. The head-to-head record is also in favor of the capital team. In the last two seasons hosting HAGL, they both won with a score of 3-0.“Hanoi and HAGL have many small players, both playing short balls. But that doesn’t mean the two teams have the same playing style. Each club has a different tactical scheme and way of operating,” Quang Hai added.
When asked to evaluate the balance of power between the two teams, Quang Hai said it was difficult to answer. He said: "To know which team is better, which team plays better, we have to wait until the final whistle."
