Comrade Truong Van Kien (commonly known as Truong Kien) - former alternate member of the 4th Party Central Committee; Deputy of the 6th National Assembly; former Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of Nghe Tinh Provincial Party Committee; former Deputy Minister of Food (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development).

The funeral was held in the grounds of Quynh Lap commune headquarters. In an emotional atmosphere, many people in the commune and people from many other localities in the province attended, paying their respects to the spirit of comrade Truong Van Kien.

Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation came to offer incense and share the great loss with the family of comrade Truong Van Kien.

Comrade Truong Van Kien, born on February 1, 1929 in Quynh Lap commune, Quynh Luu district (now Hoang Mai town) passed away at 9:30 a.m. on April 17, 2018.

With his contributions, comrade Truong Van Kien was awarded the Second Class Independence Medal by the Party and State; First and Third Class Resistance Medals; Medal for the cause of agricultural development, Medal for the cause of cooperative development; and 70-year Party membership badge.

The funeral of comrade Truong Van Kien was held according to high-level rituals. The visitation ceremony was held from 7:00 to 8:45 a.m. on April 20; the memorial service was held at 8:45 a.m. the same day at the National Funeral Home, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi; cremation at Hoan Vu Crematorium, Van Dien, Hanoi and burial at his hometown cemetery in Quynh Lap commune, Hoang Mai town.
