The VFF Disciplinary Committee decided to suspend the Song Lam Nghe An central defender for three months and also ordered him to pay all medical treatment costs for Tran Anh Khoa.

Central defender Que Ngoc Hai will not have to serve his sentence immediately. According to the Disciplinary Committee's announcement, the penalty will only begin to be applied from the opening day of the V-League 2016. This means that the SLNA captain will still be able to participate in the final round of the V-League 2015, against Hai Phong on September 20th.

Previously, at the meeting on September 16th, the Disciplinary Committee presented two options for punishing Que Ngoc Hai: a six-month suspension or a three-month suspension. However, the Disciplinary Committee decided to only announce the penalty once they knew the exact extent of Anh Khoa's injury. Ultimately, Ngoc Hai escaped the harshest penalty due to his remorse. The central defender from Nghe An flew to Da Nang to personally apologize to Anh Khoa and his family and received forgiveness from his colleague.

"I don't want to say whether this penalty is heavy or light. I won't appeal. I made a tackle that injured Anh Khoa, and I just hope he can return to the field soon," Ngoc Hai shared with VnExpress.

In the 21st minute of the match at Vinh Stadium in Round 25 of the 2015 V-League, Ngoc Hai tackled Anh Khoa with both feet, preventing him from entering the penalty area. As a result, the Da Nang player had to be stretchered off the field. The Vietnamese national team's central defender received much criticism after this incident, with fans believing he deliberately tried to injure his opponent.

"It was just an unfortunate situation. I once broke my ankle while competing in the national U17 tournament, so I would never want a colleague to go through the same thing," Ngoc Hai added.
