(Baonghean.vn) – Acting captain of Song Lam Nghe An Club, center back Que Ngoc Hai shared about the argument between him and Ho Chi Minh City Club player Truong Dinh Luat after the match in the 1/8 round of the National Cup.

In the 90th minute of the match at Vinh Stadium on April 29, the away team’s central defender Dinh Luat had a malicious collision with foreign player Olaha Michael. Afterwards, the Ho Chi Minh City central defender also had challenging words, showing off his “achievements”.

Hearing those words, Que Ngoc Hai was displeased and had some words with his senior. Coach Nguyen Duc Thang of SLNA also came in to explain and reason with the captain of Ho Chi Minh City Club.

No scuffles broke out, but tensions were high as the match ended.

“After the match, I went to the HCM City Club area and said that winning and losing is normal in football, and that we shouldn’t play maliciously or make threats. I am the captain and have the responsibility to protect my teammates. I only exchanged words, but many people who weren’t there directly said that I wanted to fight. The coaching staff and players from both sides can testify for me,” said Que Ngoc Hai.

"Dinh Luat and I play together, we have been on the same team for many years, so how can we fight? On the field, there are some excessive plays, the two sides exchange words a bit, that is also normal in football", Que Ngoc Hai explained.

In the past, Que Ngoc Hai was both the “culprit” and the victim of his lack of restraint on the field. Therefore, the SLNA midfielder does not want similar consequences and lessons to come to his colleagues and teammates.

SLNA used to be a team famous for its “hard-hitting” style of play, but under coach Nguyen Duc Thang, the Nghe An team has played beautiful football. In V.League 2017, SLNA was the only team that did not receive a single red card. The number of yellow cards was also low compared to other teams.

In the 2018 season, SLNA's coaching staff is facing many difficulties because too many players are injured, partly due to the opponent's malicious and rough play./.
