Que Phong locked down 45 households, took samples of 380 people related to new Covid-19 infection case

On the morning of December 9, Nghe An recorded 38 new Covid-19 infections, including 10 community cases, notably 5 community cases in Tien Phong commune, Que Phong district.

Immediately after the test results were available, the Covid-19 Prevention and Control Steering CommitteeQue Phong districtworked directly with Tien Phong commune to grasp the situation and direct the epidemic prevention work. Accordingly, Que Phong district decided to blockade a residential area in Na Chang village, Tien Phong commune with 45 households and 259 people. People in this area were required to "not go out, not come in" to fight the epidemic.

Ms. Lo Thi Nguyet - Vice Chairman of Que Phong District People's Committee said: "This is a relatively complicated outbreak because there are patients who are students at Tien Phong Secondary School. Currently, the locality has traced 76 F1 related to these infected cases. The district also directed to collect samples of 380 people, including those in the blockade area. If the test results show other areas in the village, the entire Na Chang village will be locked down to focus on fighting the epidemic...".

Because there are patients and F1 students in the area, the district also directed teachers and students to switch to online learning. To date, the locality has rapidly tested 180 people and taken PCR samples of 7 people at Tien Phong Secondary School.

Mr. Vo Khanh Toan - Party Secretary, Chairman of People's CommitteeTien Phong communeadded: "Tien Phong commune is located in a low-lying area, and the surrounding localities such as Kim Son town, Muong Noc, Chau Tien, Chau Binh... have all had outbreaks, so it is very difficult to control people and vehicles entering and leaving. In addition, these patients are asymptomatic, so early detection and isolation are also difficult...".

Regarding quarantine work, based on the actual situation, Tien Phong commune has sent 32 F1 to centralized quarantine at 2 locations including Na Cang resettlement area and Phuong Tien 2 Community Cultural House. The remaining F1 are quarantined at home and must ensure epidemic prevention measures.
