Que Phong: Awarding the title of Vietnamese Heroic Mother

(Baonghean.vn) - On December 22, Que Phong district held a ceremony to award the honorary title of the State "Heroic Vietnamese Mother" to mother Ly Thi Tu.

On behalf of the President, comrade Le Van Giap, Chairman of the District People's Committee, awarded the title "Heroic Vietnamese Mother" to the relatives of mother Ly Thi Tu.

Mother Ly Thi Tu was born in 1923 and died in 1987. Her hometown was Tuong Son commune, Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province. She had five children (five boys and one girl). During the national liberation cause, she sent her husband and five sons off to join the army to directly serve in combat, and three of her sons heroically sacrificed their lives on the battlefields. To honor her great contributions, in 2015, the President signed a decision to posthumously award the state title “Heroic Vietnamese Mother” to mother Ly Thi Tu.
