Que Phong: Implementing Politburo Decisions 217 and 218
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 22, 2014, the Party Committee of Que Phong district organized a training session to disseminate and explain Decision No. 217-QD/T.U, dated December 12, 2013, along with the Regulations on Social Supervision and Criticism of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and political and social organizations; and Decision No. 218-QD/T.U, dated December 12, 2013, along with the Regulations on the participation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, political and social organizations, and the people in contributing opinions to Party building and government building, to key officials at the district and grassroots levels; heads and deputy heads of mass organizations and social organizations that are members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the district and grassroots levels; and officials and employees of the people-government-party bloc at the district level.

The conference heard the basic contents of the Regulations and Rules mentioned above, and the implementation plan of the District Party Committee. Along with the Law on the Vietnam Fatherland Front, these two documents have concretized the Law on the Vietnam Fatherland Front, with particular attention paid to Clause 4, Article 7 of the Regulations on Social Supervision and Criticism, which clearly states: “Supervision through the study of documents, reports from agencies and organizations, complaints, denunciations, and suggestions from organizations and individuals sent to the Fatherland Front and political and social organizations, and through the reflection of mass media” to make recommendations to the Party Committee and the Government, and relevant agencies for timely handling.
The conference also heard about the situation in the East Sea, regarding China's illegal placement of the Haiyang 981 oil rig in Vietnam's exclusive economic zone and continental shelf, violating Vietnam's sovereignty over its maritime territories and islands.
