Que Phong deploys 2013 crop production
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of May 29, Que Phong District People's Committee organized an assessment of spring crop production and deployed the 2013 summer-autumn crop production plan.
Que Phong is a mountainous district with complex climate, so the district implements two sure-fire crops: spring and summer-autumn, focusing mainly on the spring crop.
In the 2013 Spring crop, the whole district planted 2,200.5/2,170 hectares, of which hybrid rice was 1,137.9 hectares; pure rice was 1,032.6 hectares; the average yield was expected to reach 49.5 quintals/hectare; the estimated output was 10,892.48 tons. Currently, farmers in the communes are harvesting the spring rice crop; it is expected to be completed before June 15.

In the 2013 winter-spring crop, the district directed the planting of 2,650.73 hectares, including 2,250.73 hectares of wet rice, 400 hectares of upland rice; planting 200 hectares of corn, peanuts, sesame, vegetables, and beans of all kinds. The planting time for the winter-spring crop is from June 20 to July 16 with varieties such as: hybrid rice Nhi Uu 986, LC25, materials NA2, DT68, BC15 and other long-term and short-term varieties. The production costs for the winter-spring crop will be supported according to Decision 09/2012 of the People's Committee of Nghe An province; Decision 122/2013 of the District People's Committee, according to Resolution 30a/2008 of the Government./.
