Que Phong: Three establishments fined, 10 establishments given warnings for violations of occupational safety and fire prevention regulations.
(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing Plan No. 73/QD-UBND of Que Phong district on inspection and examination of occupational safety and hygiene and fire prevention, on March 26, a liên ngành (inter-agency) inspection team led by Mr. Nguyen Dau Long - Head of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, along with the working group, inspected timber processing facilities and hydropower plants throughout the district.

Inspections at the hydropower plants revealed that all employees complied well with regulations on ensuring worker safety; staff were fully equipped with protective gear and clothing, ensuring safety while on duty; and fire prevention and control regulations at the plant were strictly adhered to.
At timber processing facilities, 100% violated occupational safety and health regulations. For example, the Que Son Commune Agricultural Service and Bamboo Production Cooperative; the Vo Ha Wood Workshop (Kim Son town); and Khanh Tam Co., Ltd. (Tuc village, Dong Van commune)... most did not provide appropriate personal protective equipment for their employees. The majority of employees lacked professional certifications and were not equipped with knowledge of occupational safety. Some facilities did not display fire safety regulations. The use of fire sources, heat sources, and equipment that generate fire or heat did not meet fire safety distance requirements.

The inspection team issued written warnings to 3 cases and reprimanded 10 violators. For minor violations, warnings were given, along with dissemination of knowledge about occupational safety and health and fire prevention. Businesses and households were required to improve working conditions to reduce workplace accidents and occupational diseases.
